This work is related to “Uncanny”, broken bottles in mouldy atmosphere of the Gallery Alcatraz in Salzburg with a trapped bike. Did you watch Kenneth Anger’s movie Scorpio Rising? Underground atmosphere of the movie is motivation for this installation object.

The object installation consists of several DVDs on stand. Cover page of DVD is designed with still image from the video. Represents alternative way how the video could be exhibited without screening, but as designed DVD object which contains the video itself. It is ironic way of exhibiting digital media on exhibition where is not possible to screen the video. Recalls on situation on streets where is posssible to buy DVD pirates with even six movies on one DVD that sabotage movie industry, a newest movies are possible to download from internet and burn on DVD. People are using that for selling on streets for very low prices. Therefore the work itself speaks about contemporary life and economy issue colored with entertaining industry. The cover page and DVD sticker is made especially for the occasion of the group exhibition “At the Zenith” in Magacin, Belgrade, with artists from Serbia and Sweden.

In this performance the main performer is the dog. The dog was addressing to the public singing “Break on through” song of the much known band The Doors, the favorite dog’s song. Transcendental element is in a relation between the dog and the public. Multiple dimensional communications that opens possibilities for understanding nature, roots of language, ontological question and purposes of different beings.
The performance happened on Kalemegdan Fortress Belgrade, produced by BELEF ’03. It reconstructs Manet’s painting “Breakfast on grass”, but with implementation of the Head (object made by Mache method with widely open mouth as screaming) and traditional Serbian food (burek and jogurt). From the scene that is performed on Kalemegdan the Head went through the city center across Branko’s bridge and ended at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade.
The three men in swimming trunks danced on send in the gallery. The dancers went in Suntan Parlor to prepare their skin for dance, good simulation of summer atmosphere in wintertime. The Clash’s’ song ‘Train in Vain’ was playing in the back! It underlines the ironic position of artists in wider social context of society in transition as Serbia is.
The performance happened in Remont Gallery Belgrade, Serbia, 2005. The video documentary of the event was screened on Pixeldance Video Art Festival Thessaloniki, Greece, 2006.
